Coding and Testing
While our graphic team works on your design our coding team is working on your site functionality.
This deals with what your site will do, i.e. contact forms, dynamic content, eCommerce. Functionality
is built according to the scope document. Once everything
has been built and tested we will demo it to you. You will see the functionality separate from your design,
and you'll have the chance to make suggestions. We want the functionality as well as the design to
appear as you envisioned.
During this review we may uncover more things you want your site to do. This is fine, but let's
put major changes aside until later and first ensure the original functionality works. We can always
add to your site later. After this review, we will make any changes and retest.
The final step is to match the functionality to the design and have you use the system. The goal
is for you and your friends to break the site before we go live. This gives us a chance to fix
issues before they affect your business. We are pretty good at testing but have found we cannot always anticipate
the way people will use (or misuse) your site. When you test, it makes you more familiar with operation and
helps uncover errors.
Once this final period of fixing errors and testing is completed, your site is rolled out live.
We run through testing one more time and then let the site alone ... at least until you're ready to add
something new.
